Hand Embroidered Brooch - French Knots

A sweet little keepsake!

My process:
I cut a small piece of linen and choose a pretty colour theme of stranded cottons with a green leaf tone to match. I start with the French knots in the middle, building up a cottage garden aesthetic. I add a leaf stitch around the edge. I then run gathering stitch around the edge of the linen piece, placing a piece of interfacing in the middle and then draw it up around the sides. The final stage is carefully using adhesive glue to place the fabric in the middle of the wooden brooch. After it dries it is ready to wear :)
